Backfill Engineer with experience in mobile fleet - ideally autonomous for an initial 3 month contract, on a 5:2, 4:3 DIDO roster. This client side role is working with a leading gold producer.
Benefits
- Initial 3 month contract with view to extension
- 5 days on, 2 days off- 4 days on, 3 days off DIDO roster
- 9 hour days onsite & competitive hourly rate
Qualifications & Skills
- Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering, or Geology, with geotechnical and/or backfill experience highly regarded.
- Minimum 3 years' experience working with mobile mining fleet, ideally with exposure to autonomous operations.
- Demonstrated familiarity with the following equipment will be highly regarded:
-Caterpillar 793F Dump Trucks (AMTs)
-994/995 Wheel Loaders
-D11 Dozers
-18M / 24M Graders
-785 Base Trucks (Water Carts)
-395 Excavators with Rock Breakers
- Strong knowledge of underground mining practices, particularly relating to backfill systems.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent safety attitude
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor backfill activities across the site to ensure safety, compliance, and performance standards are met.
- Support the planning and implementation of efficient backfill programs in collaboration with the operations team.
- Provide engineering input on equipment utilisation and backfill logistics.
- Ensure safe integration and operation of mobile fleet, including autonomous mining technology.
- Analyse data to optimise backfill system performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist with technical reporting and regulatory compliance documentation.
