About the role

• Project Engineer - Civil to work across Sustaining Capital Rail packages for various mining projects
• Perth CBD based, ad hoc site visits
• Prepare schedules for design work and obtaining approvals for flow sheets and drawings.
• Develop project schedules, budgets and forecasts.
• Obtain appropriate approvals for documentation including but not limited to calculations, specifications, variations etc.
• Monitor and report on aspects of project quality, cost and schedule.
• Monitor and identify risks to the project and drive implementation of appropriate controls and mitigations.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, design team, operations, EPCM service providers and other contractors on an ongoing basis.
• Resolve potential issues or escalate them to the Project Manager.
• Develop and implement project controls and specifications, schedules and cost estimates
• Initial 12 month contract with good chance of extension

Key criteria

• Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering.
• 4-8 years of professional experience in project engineering and project management.
• Demonstrated experience working on mining and rail engineering projects.
• Understanding of heavy haul rail projects will be well-regarded.
• Ability to perform effectively in a team environment and foster good relationships.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven project management skills (achieving prescribed budget, timeframe and customer requirements)
• Ability to interpret and communicate technical information.
