Design Manager - Minerals Processing
Location: Brisbane / Gold Coast | Hybrid Work Available
Contract: $110-$120/hr inclusive
Opportunity to be permanently employed after 6 months for the right candidate

Short Description:
Lead and manage engineering design teams for minerals processing projects, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance. Work on large-scale, high-value projects with a global leader.

About the Role
• Manage all aspects of engineering design for minerals processing plants.
• Oversee multi-discipline teams (mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers).
• Ensure compliance with safety, design standards, and contractual obligations.
• Approve engineering deliverables and manage project risks.
• Act as the main engineering lead, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Conduct regular design reviews, safety assessments, and quality audits.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil preferred).
• 15+ years' experience in engineering design, project management, or heavy industry.
• Proven ability to manage multi-discipline engineering teams and budgets.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
• Experience with Autodesk, MS Office, and Aconex/TeamBinder (preferred).
• Understanding of safety systems, regulatory requirements, and design assurance.
