Job description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Lead or Principal Electrical Engineer with proven experience leading teams and delivering engineering projects across all phases, from conceptual design to execution. This is a dual role involving both team leadership and hands-on design work, focusing on brownfield and expansion projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of discipline-specific engineering services, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and review engineering design deliverables, ensuring safe, sustainable design throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee and contribute to engineering calculations, drawings, and documentation, ensuring quality through established checking procedures.
  • Facilitate Safety in Design assessments, HAZID/HAZOPs, and attend site visits as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure technical integrity and timely project delivery.
  • Manage discipline resources, track progress, and resolve technical issues, maintaining consistent communication with all stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical or Power Engineering (Australian-recognized).
  • Extensive experience in brownfield sustaining capital projects within the mining sector.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status, with Functional Safety and Hazardous Area certifications advantageous.
  • Proficiency in HV/LV systems, electrical calculations, and power system studies.
  • Strong site experience including scoping solutions, construction, and commissioning.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience managing teams and large portfolios.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, project management, and multi-disciplinary coordination.
