About the Role
As the Electrical Engineer Level II, you will be supported by experienced designers to ensure that you have hands on experience to complement your current experience. Ability to self-travel to site is required (approx. 1.5 hours from Perth).

  • Be involved with the delivery of electrical specific engineering services that meet applicable statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure the project scope is clear, identify changes to scope and ensure they comply with project change management processes, participate in project reviews as required.
  • Propose a safe and sustainable engineering design considering constructability, operability and maintainability.
  • Have a full understanding & ability to perform specific engineering design LV/HV, instrumentation & PLC electrical equipment
  • Consideration of site conditions and brownfield interfaces.
  • Ability to understand and support creation of P&IDs, electrical drawings (single line diagrams / schematics / MCCs etc) & Instrumentation (loop diagrams / layouts / terminations etc).
  • Very good experience in LV electrical system design and calculations (e.g. CB ratings / trip settings / cable sizing / voltage drop calculations / max demand calculations).
  • Ability to undertake basic design; Lighting design, Earthing design; System studies and protection coordination.
  • Step and touch potential calculations, Arc flash hazard calculations; Creating VSD and protection setting files.
  • Good awareness of MV / HV electrical circuits, good understanding of arc flash risk and mitigation methods.

Key Criteria
  • Bachelor of Engineering Electrical
  • Must have proven detailed design experience in brownfields scope (at least 5 years recent in relevant industry)
  • Relevant industry-based experience engineering in detailed design, Electrical and Instrumentation design experience in the Refinery/Mining Industry, or similar.
  • Experience in Brownfield electrical systems modifications (LV/MV/HV) and instrumentation.
  • Hazardous Area Certification, Functional Safety Certification, knowledge of brownfield sites and interfaces.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word, Power Tools for Windows.
  • Good understanding of Australian electrical standards.
