About the role:

• Leading contractor that specialises in the protection and remediation of steel and concrete structures.
• Strong portfolio of defence projects focusing on fuel infrastructure and hydrualic/mechanical piping packages.
• Will be working in a team of 5 Estimators, this role will be responsible for accurate bid preparation, presentation, and follow-up of Defence sector tenders.
• Create accurate cost estimates, including analyzing cost escalation.
• Perform precise material quantity take-offs to prepare bills of quantities.
• Assist in developing construction methodologies, schedules, and submission documents.
• Build estimates from first principles using site-specific productivity rates.
• Identify gaps or required clarifications through RFIs to ensure complete tender documentation.
• Evaluate designs and engineering specifications for cost efficiency.
• Review and verify subcontractor pricing for all service areas.
• Prepare detailed tenders with traceability and provide support for pre-contracts and project delivery.
• Coordinate team efforts and lead tender cost estimate review meetings.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, fostering positive relationships.

Key Criteria:

• Strong estimating background across the engineering or resource sector
• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field
• Expertise in fuel/hydraulic/mechanical piping and equipment, from first principles.
• Previous experience in Defence sector, construction, process/non-process infrastructure, and water/wastewater treatment
• Strong financial and commercial awareness.
• Ability to request additional information through RFIs to finalize tender documents.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; confident, professional, and self-motivated.
• High attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
