About the role:

• FIFO Structural Engineer required to work on a gold project
• You will be responsible for providing site engineering support during construction phase of the project. You are required to complete designs, adjust designs, and interpret designs to meet site conditions. Also, provide final approval of completed construction tasks to ensure construction conforms to design and specifications.
• Assist QA/QC department to solve any related Engineering issues to ensure that Non-Conformance Reports and Corrective Actions are prepared, collated and that they are closed out prior to Turnover.
• Participate in the Punchlist walkdowns and ensure that punch lists are prepared, collated and that the punch items are cleared expediently.
• Ensure that all systems are complete and that all activities necessary to get the system handover for commissioning have been performed and documented as per the Project Procedure.
• Ensure the Contractors prepare documentation for field tests that require review and approval.
• Complete other responsibilities associated with the position as required by the Engineer Manager.
• Adjust design where applicable to suite construction changes and create structural models by using computer-aided design software.
• Prepare work packs e.g., relevant project plans, project procedures, project instructions and you are also required to do design of structures, such as buildings, steel structures.
• Follow construction safety guidelines and choose appropriate materials based on structural specifications.
• Define customer needs and requirements and assist with TQ's and /or RFI's with the on-site construction processes.
• Engage in inspection and verification activities, complete outstanding design and collaborate with contractors and other disciplines.
• FIFO roster: 14 days on, 7 days off
• 12 hour days, 84 hours p/w/

Key Criteria:

• Experience as a Structural Design and Field Engineer on Mining project, Shaft and Underground Experience beneficial.
• Degree qualified
• A working knowledge of concrete, structures on mining construction sites and ability to communicate with all levels of staff and employees on site.
• Excellent safety attitude and knowledge of industry guidelines
• Able to complete engineering and project documentation
• Excellent team skills
