About the Role

As an ICT Security Engineer, you will be instrumental in identifying security vulnerabilities, improving system resilience, and ensuring compliance with best practices. You will work closely with development teams to integrate technical security controls throughout the software development lifecycle.

This role is based in Brtisbane, but opportunities exist to be based in various cities accross Australia.

Key Responsibilities
• Research, consult, analyse, and evaluate system program and security needs.
• Identify and address technology limitations, security risks, and vulnerabilities in existing systems.
• Develop and implement secure coding practices to mitigate cybersecurity threats.
• Test, debug, diagnose, and correct errors and faults, ensuring software security and performance meet specifications.
• Design, implement, and maintain encryption and decryption protocols to protect sensitive data.
• Perform forensic analysis to detect and respond to security anomalies or threats.
• Develop, update, and maintain technical security documentation and operational procedures.
• Oversee continuous improvement and deployment strategies, ensuring automation and security compliance.
• Manage testing and automation of secure software and application deployments.
• Identify and mitigate security risks that may affect product performance throughout its lifecycle.
• Provide expert guidance on software security strategies, risk mitigation, and best practices.

Key Criteria
To be considered a successful candidate you should possess the following.
• A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least five years of relevant experience in ICT security engineering or software development.
• Strong knowledge of encryption, decryption, and forensic analysis methodologies.
• Proficiency in secure coding practices and multiple programming languages.
• Experience with risk identification, vulnerability assessment, and security compliance.
• Familiarity with automated deployment strategies and security testing protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for security vulnerabilities.
• Excellent communication skills to provide security recommendations and risk assessments.
