ASX listed junior mining company with operations in the Mid-West region of Western Australia. They are starting their 100% owned iron ore project which boasts a high-grade deposit putting their ore in high demand. The company has strong cashflow, an experienced executive team and strong community engagement making them a stable company with lots of growth opportunities.
About the role
As a Mine Geologist you will report to the Senior Geologist on an 8/6 roster Perth FIFO. You will work with the Senior Geologist as their back-to-back therefore you will have the opportunity to work autonomously and develop your decision-making skills and ownership of tasks. The Mine Geologist will be responsible for overseeing the drill and blast contractor and ensure high data integrity across the operations. Your duties will include but not limited to:
• Manage grade control.
• Drill & blast rig management.
• Sample collection and management.
• Ore body definition and in pit mapping.
Key Criteria
As the Mine Geologist you will have previously open pit mine site experience and have knowledge of mining processes, safety regulations and environmental standards. You will bring to the role the following:
• Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field.
• Previous mining experience.
• Good IT skills with ideally Surpac experience.
• Ability to work in a small technical team and have the confidence to work autonomously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for effective contractor management and stakeholder engagement.
