About the role:

• Principal Civil Engineer to join a well regarded consultant to lead a small civil engineering team in the delivery of civil engineering deliverables for a key refinery plant project.
• Reporting to the engineering manager, you will be supporting a team of engineers and designer to delivery civil design of open and closed drainage structures, retaining walls, laydown and hardstands, underground drainage network and general civil design around processing plant.
• Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures;
• Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes;
• Assist during procurement, construction and closeout stages.
• Provide civil engineering scopes
• Guide and mentor Junior Engineers
• Liaise closely with other disciplines on project and design issues
• Liaise closely with client and project stakeholders
• Initial 12 month contract with good chance of extension
• Perth CBD based with attractive hourly rate offered

Key Criteria:

• Formal Civil Engineering qualifications that are recognised by Engineers Australia
• Previous consultant engineering background
• Possessing a strong technical civil engineering background within bulk earthworks design, drainage and heavy pavement design
• Strong experience working on civil engineering projects within the mining industry or resources sector.
• Previous experience leading and guiding small civil engineering teams. Good understanding of budgets and schedules
• Excellent stakeholder skills and the ability to liaise with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Strong reporting and project documentation skills
• Excellent safety attitude and knowledge of industry guidelines
