About the Role
Do you want to work with customers to solve problems, overcome obstacles, and exercise leadership in both operational and consulting roles?
Oversee project approval processes, plan environmental impact assessments (EIAs), and write advisory reports for customers. This is a great opportunity to build a small team and oversee all environmental components.
Key Criteria
As the successful candidate for the role of Principal Environmental Consultant, you will meet the following criteria;
• Coordinate and oversee Environmental Impact Assessments.
• Provide strategic advice on project approvals.
• Prepare, review, and refine environmental technical studies, along with other technical and advisory reports for clients.
• Manage multiple technical studies simultaneously, including: scoping to align with project goals,
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to achieve specific project objectives.
• Oversee contracts and scopes of work for external consultants and contractors.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and manage expectations.
• Foster credible and trusting relationships with clients.
• Promote the company and identify new business opportunities.
• Communicate with regulatory authorities at both State and Federal levels.
• Engage with landowners, business owners, and public stakeholders.
• Ensure successful project delivery by meeting the three key performance indicators: quality, timely milestones and deliverables, and adherence to budget.
• Extensive professional relationships within the mining industry
• Queensland Legislation - EP Act, SDPWO Act, MER Act and MR Act
• Northern Territory Legislation - Environment Assessment Act, Mining Management Act
• Commonwealth Legislation - Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act
• Formal degree in environmental management, science or engineering disciplines are required
