Job description

About the role:
Join a leading company specialising in the design, manufacture, commissioning, and services across customised plant and systems for a wide range of industries on a large-scale stainless tanks package associate to a significant mining project. As a Project Controls Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your responsibilities will include planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management. You will work closely with the project manager, engineers, and other stakeholders to monitor progress and implement control measures effectively.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using software tools.
  • Coordinate with project teams to set timelines and milestones.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, highlighting deviations.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets.
  • Monitor expenditures and costs against budgets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures.
  • Identify and assess project risks.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Present project status updates to senior management.
  • Facilitate effective communication within project teams.
  • Align project control activities with project objectives.

Key Criteria
  • 3-5 years of project controls experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in planning, scheduling, and cost control in engineering and manufacturing projects.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and prior experience setting up entire projects in P6.
  • Ability to prepare L1, L2, L3, and L4 schedules in Primavera/MS Project.
  • Knowledge of resource loading, analysis, baseline/delay analysis, network diagramming, critical path, earned value management, and S-curves.
  • Prior experience monitoring project cost expenditure and identifying cost savings.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
