Job description

We are recruiting a Project Engineer for leading utilities company based in queensland, it supplies water to nearly 50% of the state's customers, both residential and commercial, including agricultural and mining.
They have several challenging infrastructure projects in the coming years and are looking to expand their team to deliver to the highest standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Manage the safe, on time, on budget delivery of high-quality outcomes for complex major projects related to new or existing company infrastructure and services.

• Produce and manage robust detailed business cases where required to demonstrate that infrastructure investment proposals are justified and prudent.

• Manage effective and efficient project delivery, performance monitoring and reporting, end-to-end project management, cost control, contract preparation, tender preparation and evaluation, construction management, commissioning and handover.

• Manage preparation of briefs and managing contracts for the engagement of contractors and consultants for outsourced project and constructions works and monitoring their performance to ensure quality outputs.

• Establish, manage, mobilise and demobilise project specific delivery teams where necessary utilising permanent, temporary and contract personnel.

• Functional management and mentoring of company construction management resources, including construction managers, construction inspectors and other staff as required for infrastructure construction project delivery.


Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Equivalent
• Minimum of 10 years' engineering experience in the construction of Major Civil Engineering Projects.
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card, previously called Blue Card - Construction)
• Minimum of 3-5 years project management experience within bulk water infrastructure or a related field.
Desirable:
• RPEQ or ability to obtain
• Experience with the following; pumps, piping, concrete material; batching, delivery, pouring, testing, dam foundations, passive and stressed anchors, embankments and quarries is desirable.
