The Position
Our client is experiencing rapid growth and diversification, creating an exciting opportunity for a Senior Control Systems Engineer - Water Services to join their dynamic operations team. This newly created role is dedicated to supporting clients in the water industry. As one of our client's Senior Control Systems Engineers, you will have a wide range of responsibilities, from mentoring engineers to hands-on technical solution development.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing brownfield projects and navigating the associated change management processes.
- Providing mentorship and leadership to fellow engineers.
- Translating customer requirements into engineering designs.
- Designing control systems for the water and wastewater industry.
- Delivering projects on time and within budget, especially in fixed-price scenarios.
- Conducting site audits, estimating project costs, and crafting proposals.
- Interpreting P&IDs, electrical schematics, and other engineering documents.
- Generating engineering documents like functional descriptions, alarm registers, C&E matrices, commissioning plans, and inspection test plans.
- Conducting on-site commissioning.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in designing control systems for the water and wastewater industry.
- Must have full working rights in Australia (preferably Permanent Resident or Citizen).
- Experience with brownfield projects and a strong grasp of change management processes.
- Demonstrated ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into engineering designs.
- Must be Proficient with interpreting P&IDs, electrical schematics, and other engineering documents.
- Capable of producing engineering documents such as functional descriptions, alarm registers, C&E matrices, commissioning plans, and inspection test plans.
- Experience in designing and commissioning field networks, encompassing Ethernet, Modbus, and Profibus/Profinet.
- Experience On-site commissioning.
Required technical skills:
- Experience with PLC systems including Siemens (TIA Portal & Step 7), Schneider (Eco structure), and experience with Omron would be desirable.
- Experience with SCADA systems including Wonderware, Citect, Geo SCADA (Clear SCADA), and Win CC HMI.
- Designing and commissioning field networks, including Ethernet, Modbus, and Profibus/Profinet.
