We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Controller to join an integrated client/owner's team working on a significant Mine Closure Project. This position reports to the EPCM Project Manager while working closely with the Owners Project Controls Manager. The team is a mix of owner and EPCM staff, creating a collaborative work environment focused on project success.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Controller to join an integrated client/owner's team working on a significant Mine Closure Project. This position reports to the EPCM Project Manager while working closely with the Owners Project Controls Manager. The team is a mix of owner and EPCM staff, creating a collaborative work environment focused on project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and control project costs for various work packages within a portfolio-type project setting.
- Ensure accurate cost reporting and track financial performance to maintain transparency.
- Monitor progress on the project, flagging any potential budget or schedule issues.
- Identify risks and provide solutions in respect of engineering standards and project schedules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all cost control information is up-to-date and accurate.
- Allocate budgets, develop and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and ensure the Statement of Work (SOW) is adhered to.
- Maintain and report on cost forecasts and actuals, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Key Criteria
- Proven experience working in a mining and resource project environment, specifically in mine closure or large-scale resource projects.
- Demonstrated experience in controlling costs across multiple work packages in a portfolio-type project.
- Strong knowledge of cost control principles, including budget allocation, WBS, SOW, and cost terminology.
- Ability to generate detailed and insightful cost reports that accurately reflect the project's financial standing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify cost and schedule risks early and propose mitigating actions.
- Ability to work within integrated teams with both owner and EPCM personnel.
