As a Junior Mechanical Designer, you will play a key role in assisting with the design and detailing of mechanical components, from conveyors to surge bins and transfer stations, while gaining exposure to a range of technical and engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and development of mechanical systems and components for mining-related equipment and infrastructure.
- Support the design of mechanical elements such as conveyors, surge bins, chutes, and transfer stations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (civil, structural, electrical, etc.) to ensure coordination of mechanical elements within the broader project.
- Create and modify design drawings for fabrication under the guidance of senior designers.
- Contribute to the project delivery process from concept to detailed design, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
About You:

Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Design, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in mechanical design (preferably in mining, minerals processing, or bulk materials handling).
- Familiarity with engineering design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Bentley MicroStation, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn about industry standards and regulations in mechanical design.
