Our Client

Our client is a fast paced, high growth EPCM in the mineral processing sector. They are a global company looking for a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience to grow the minerals team in Brisbane.

About the Role

  • Serve as the key leader in enhancing mechanical engineering capabilities within the Engineering & Projects team.
  • Oversee technical output across all projects to ensure quality and compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Mentor and develop team members to promote continuous professional growth and improve discipline methods and tools.
  • Identify and contribute to business development opportunities to support organizational growth.
  • Leverage extensive industry experience to guide engineering project work and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Drive the growth of the discipline's capabilities in alignment with business strategies and targets.
  • Collaborate with Department Managers, Project Managers, Study Managers, and other engineering leaders to ensure effective delivery of engineering work and strategic initiatives.
  • Requires weekly travel to the Brisbane CBD and South Brisbane office.


Preferred Qualifications

• University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 15 plus years of post graduate experience in mineral processing or related industries.
• Experience in gold, base metals or lithium will be considered favourably.
• CP Eng and RPEQ qualifications preferred.
• Ability to effectively manage multi-disciplined teams.
• Proficient understanding of business acumen and ability to adapt to different business environments.
• Leader with the ability to initiate, lead and manage change in a complex environment.
• Attention to detail and exceptional knowledge of process optimisation.
• Commitment to providing quality service to clients within budget and time constraints.
• Willing to travel outside Australia on a periodic basis to suit the needs of the business and its operations.
