Role Opportunity:As the Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing business opportunities within the mining, resources, and heavy industrial sectors. The client is a well regarded local structural engineering consultant servicing the mining and heavy industrial sector. You will leverage your technical knowledge of engineering and the resources sector to engage with clients, understand their challenges, and provide tailored solutions that align with their operational needs. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and strong relationship management skills to drive revenue growth and establish the company as a preferred engineering solutions provider.Benefits:Salary: Competitive base + commission + benefits. Full time position.Perth CBD office basedFlexible working arrangements & supportive leadershipExposure to large-scale mining and industrial projectsOpportunity to work with industry leaders and high-profile clientsQualifications & Skills:Proven experience in Sales, Business Development, or Account Management within the mining, resources, or heavy industrial sectors.Background in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (or strong technical understanding of these disciplines).Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.Established network within mining companies, EPCM firms, contractors, and industrial operators in WA.Demonstrated success in securing contracts and driving business growth in a technical sales environment.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Strong problem-solving abilities with a solution-oriented mindset.Proficiency in CRM systems, sales reporting, and proposal preparation.Duties & Responsibilities:Business Development & SalesIdentify and develop new business opportunities within the mining, heavy industrial, and resources sectors across WA.Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and senior executives.Promote the company's structural engineering services, including design, assessments, remediation, and project consulting.Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market share and revenue.Respond to tenders, RFQs, and project inquiries, preparing compelling proposals and technical solutions.Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements, ensuring profitable outcomes for the business.Client & Stakeholder EngagementConduct client site visits, technical presentations, and product demonstrations to showcase the company's expertise.Engage in early-stage project discussions to influence design and engineering decisions.Work closely with internal engineering teams to ensure client needs are met effectively.Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to build brand awareness and industry connections.Technical & Market ExpertiseStay updated on industry trends, engineering advancements, and regulatory requirements within the mining and heavy industrial sectors.Provide technical advice to clients, helping them select the best engineering solutions for their projects.Collaborate with engineering teams to develop innovative solutions that address industry challenges.Conduct market research to identify emerging business opportunities and competitive insights.About Our Client:Our client is a well regarded structural engineering firm providing specialist services to the mining, resources, and heavy industrial sectors across Western Australia.
